Minneapolis is a great city to visit with many things to do and places to see. However, if you are in the city for a limited amount of time, you need to know what you should be doing so you can plan accordingly. There is something for the whole family in Minneapolis if you know where to look.

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

 

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a 19-acre park with contemporary sculptures dotted throughout. It is a great place to spend a few hours as you can easily stroll through the greenery and take in these amazing works of art. If you become tired of looking at the sculptures, there is also a unique mini-golf course.

The garden is open from 6 am until midnight so you can visit at any time. If you want to play a round of mini-golf, you will need to pay a small fee which includes admission to the Walker Art Museum. The cost of the mini-golf and Walker Art Museum is $19 for an adult and $15 for children.

 

The Walker Art Center

 

The Walker Art Center is considered the best art museum in the city and has an amazing permanent 20th-century art collection. The collection includes art from some of the biggest names in US painting and pop art. One of the great things about this museum is that during the evenings of late July to late August, they offer more than just art.

During these times, the museum hosts free music and movies. These free events are held over the pedestrian bridge in Loring Park and are something that you should take the time to see if you are in the cit. You can also get free admission to the Art Center on Thursday evenings and the first Saturday of the month.

 

Surly Brewing

 

For beer fans, a trip to Surly Brewing is a must. This is a sprawling family-friendly beer hall which is popular with the locals because it has 20 rotating taps and an abundance of meat-based snacks. There is a range of beers that you can try from a flagship American IPA to a Belgian-style Saison.

Surly Brewing is open every day of the week, so there is no reason to not visit. However, it is important to note that the opening times will vary depending on the day. The brewery opens at 11 am every day, but will close at 11 pm Sunday to Thursday and midnight on Friday and Saturday.

The Endless Bridge

 

To get to the Endless Bridge, you will need to head to the Guthrie Theater and make your way up to the top. This walkway will give you an amazing view of the Mississippi River. The best thing about the bridge is that you do not need a theater ticket to get to is because it is a public space.

If you are going to the Endless Bridge, it is important to note that it is open from 8 am to 8 pm. The bridge will be open later on performance days at the theater.
